My skin is stuck as steve

I was playing Minecraft and then stopped for awhile and when I came back my skin was stuck as steve. It shows up to other players, but i can't see it and I've tried to change it on the launcher and minecraft.net and now i can't play minecraft without having to use a mod to see my skin.
