Shulkers sometimes "flinch" when the player is in close proximity

Sometimes, shulkers will "flinch", where they open up to shoot you, but get interrupted for no reason and close before they even are completely open. During this behavior, they tend to be open for much less time than the norm (i.e. during peaking behavior). This occurs most often when a shulker is first alerted of the player's presence, but can occur any time the player is within range.

Possibly an intended feature, but doesn't seem that way.

Apologies, it appears I might have misunderstood you.

@unknown It's all good, no problem. I have updated the description to make it clearer.

Codexe

I attached a new file to this report, hopefully it is what you described.

Brevort

@unknown Yes! Thank you! I tried recording it for a long time but the best I got was with a shulker that was mostly off the screen

I was unable to reproduce this in 1.19.4. Appears to have been fixed at some point.

Brevort

Never mind. This affects 1.20rc1.
