The Bug:

Crash when attempting to create a scoreboard objective - java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke "String.toLowerCase(java.util.Locale)" because "☃" is null

Information:

When attempting to create a scoreboard objective, my game would often crash with the following error message. This crash would only seem to occur when attempting to create a scoreboard objective. There isn't really a reliable method of reproducing this issue, as sometimes the game crashes, and sometimes it doesn't. I would simply type "/scoreboard objectives add" in the chat, without pressing enter, and more often than not, my game would crash. As far as I am aware, this issue did not occur in 1.16.5 or 21w19a. A crash report has been attached, regarding this issue.
