[MC-226313] Lava can generate floating in caves

When I was looking around for a end portal room in a stronghold in one of my worlds, I came across 2 layers of non-flowing lava. The seed is -1133765157981061987. The seed for the 21w20a is -5758760364720378710

When a structure spawns and cuts through a lava or water pool, the liquid can have open sides and not flow.

Lava is not supposed to do that, but different things generate at different times, which can cause discrepancies like that.

I wouldn't consider this a duplicate of that because it is mostly about water and the lava wasn't flowing from above a place. While in this one the lava isn't flowing sideways.

It definitely relates to MC-32813, but I get your point, it probably isn't an exact duplicate, although I suppose that's for the mods/helpers to decide.

This seems to be effecting 1.17 more than 1.16. I think the reason for the 1.16 one is a rare sight, while the 1.17 ones are from structures/caves intersecting with lava aquifers.

That does seem to be the case. In 1.16, you only have random lava pools and the lava stream things at y=11.
