When placing a candle on a cake either lit or unlit, you can't take it off without breaking the cake as they become fused together when they are both completely separate things. Also When you right-click on the cake with a candle in it, the game forces you to eat it to take the candle off the cake when you should normally be able to take the candle off without eating it.

Thats like saying that this bug MC-203661 is just a feature request aswell
The liquid is still fully lit (heck, even lava is shown as black, which emits light itself), and it is not the case for the side of source blocks, so it rendering black on a visible flowing side is a valid rendering issue. The inability to take the candle off is not a rendering issue, but a lack of a feature, and as such a feature request.
