Blocks with item forms which cannot be obtained in Survival do not have special name colors

Relates to MC-197324 and some of what it relates to.

As of 1.17, spawners, an example of a block encountered in Survival gameplay but not obtainable as an item in Survival, have the epic rarity, resulting in a magenta name for the item form. However, there are a multitude of other examples of blocks whose item forms are only available in Creative, which do not have this treatment.

The expected behaviour would be that either all blocks listed below gain this name color, or some do and others become obtainable normally through some Survival means.

Affected blocks:

  • minecraft:bedrock

  • minecraft:budding_amethyst

  • minecraft:chorus_plant

  • minecraft:dirt_path

  • minecraft:end_portal_frame

  • minecraft:farmland

  • minecraft:frogspawn

  • minecraft:infested_chiseled_stone_bricks

  • minecraft:infested_cobblestone

  • minecraft:infested_cracked_stone_bricks

  • minecraft:infested_deepslate

  • minecraft:infested_mossy_stone_bricks

  • minecraft:infested_stone

  • minecraft:infested_stone_bricks

This is a feature request.

Petrified oak slabs have been split from this report into MC-256901 due to removal from the Creative inventory, which changes the circumstances considerably.
