Bees mysteriously vanishing even from safe enclosed areas after 1.17 update.

After updating to 1.17 the bees in my safe, enclosed honey production facility were ALL gone. When asked, no other players in the realm reported any incidents or possible explanations. Nearby bees in other outdoor hives were still there, however.

I've been working on repopulating those hives over the past few days but as of today the bees have all mysteriously vanished once more. This time, bees in other hives nearby are also gone.

Bee populations sure have it rough with that tendency to leave their hives and fly northwest and now this! I strongly suspect some bug is to blame because the building which contained the missing bees was always safe for them in the past (and had in fact proven to be the only way to maintain a stable bee population for honey production).

Yes! I started a new 1.17 world and found some bees and harvested the honey from their hive, but then the bees disappeared and never returned. :/

This has happened to me numerous times.  Bees in an enclosure will simply disappear in 1.17.  It usually happens after logging off and logging back on and it varies.  Sometimes it can be 100+ MC days, sometimes in as little as 10.  I even put name tags on my bees and they still disappeared.  They did not die, as I got no messages in chat.

I noticed this as well, I have a completely enclosed area for my bees and they keep vanishing, I know I had 3 bees in all my hives but they just keep disappearing. It is a nuisance.

What a relief to know that there are others with the same error.

I have several days with that problem. I have a small bee farm and suddenly I stopped seeing them. And after checking the hives I realized that they disappeared. I have even created new worlds in creative and bees keep disappearing. And as mentioned, when leaving the world and re-entering the bees, they totally or partially disappear.

I've reopened the report. The bot resolved it as a duplicate as someone attached a JVM crash report

Can anyone confirm if the passengers of a bee disappear as well as that bee?

Im currently making a datapack to hopefully "fix" this issue using a passenger to detect if the bee it is on doesnt exist or not and respawning the bee if it despawns unnaturally (pack requested by someone who posted this exact issue in a minecraft forum).

Speaking of that datapack, Ive finished making it (after a few days of work put into it beforehand)

It should theoretically fix this bug by replacing normal bee entities with bees having an invisible (marker) passenger. When the bee unnaturally disappears, if the bug doesnt get rid of the bee's passenger as well, a replacement bee will spawn (as of right now, retains its name).

I'd like to add to this.

My bees have been vanishing since 1.17. I keep breeding them up to large numbers, then I come back and they're gone.

Today I built a new bee farm, as my bees were free range.

I now have a weird issue where they're going into the hives and not coming out ever.

The hives are buzzing.

I named a few to see if it would help stop the vanishing, but they're just staying in the hives now.

I'm on PS4, in the latest version.

Thank you for your report!
