Freezing in spectator mode

Whenever I log into a world and go into spectator mode, it takes about thirty seconds for the screen to freeze. I can get back into another gamemode, but man it's annoying.

Please provide some screenshots or videos of this issue occurring whilst the F3 debug screen is enabled.
