I play on 1.17 for my singleplayer worlds currently but switch to 1.8.9 for a particular server. Almost every time (usually have to spend a decent amount of time on 1.8.9 first) I switch back to 1.17 after being on 1.8.9, the tutorial tips start to appear, even though I've been playing the game for several years (at this point nearly a decade!). It wouldn't be a problem if they decayed over time, but they stay there until you complete what they tell you to, and it's annoying to have a useless box covering the top right of my screen. I've tried going into the options.txt file outlined here, but it only works for as long as I stay on 1.17. If I switch to a different version and come back, the tutorial tips start coming up again, with the options.txt file resetting itself too.
Please fix this so that no matter how much switching is done between versions, the tutorial steps do only ever appear one (1) single time per device, instead of resetting unprompted.
Going to 1.8.9 counts as downgrading, and downgrading is unsupported. It is common for things to break or reset every time you switch versions, there is just nothing that can be done about it, as it is impossible to change an outdated version.
