Item duplication/desync in creative mode hotbar

The Bug

When in creative mode a pressing q and a hotbar number button at the same time you have a chance to desync the item. Proceding to pick up the desynced items and opening a chest will result in the desynced items becoming what they were desynced to

How to reproduce

  1. Get a chest and place it.

  2. Get a item you want to dupe.

  3. Place it in a hotbar slot.

  4. Place one dirt in a hotbar slot.

  5. Press Q and the slot of the dirt.

  6. Do it some times.

  7. Open the chest and you have duped the items.

Does this affect Survival mode as well? If it only affects Creative mode, then this is not really exploitable because you have unlimited amounts of items anyways. If you don't mind we can make this report public then and treat it as regular (non-exploit) report.

It doesn't work in survival, I don't mind if you make this report public.

I was able to reproduce in 1.18 pre-release 4.

Also works in 1.18 release candidate 3

Can confirm in 1.18.1 and 22w07a.
