Redstone mining

Please provide more information regarding this issue. Reports similar to these often get marked as incomplete due to the lack of details provided. Screenshots and/or videos demonstrating the problem would be greatly appreciated.

Can you clarify so that I can properly report?

You are supposed to left-click to mine, not right-click. Mining with right click was only available in Cave Game, the first Minecraft ever.

The hand animation of right clicking redstone ore is not for mining, but for lighting up the ore. You can only mine redstone ores (and any other block) with red clicks under the default control settings.
