If you are almost dying and died while eating something while KeepInventory is on, you will still be able to continue eating, you will lose 1 of your food items and your hunger will be filled.
Eating... Dying, inventory kept. Continue eating (before respawn) hunger level filled according to what you ate, and you lost one of your food as you used it. So you just waste an item when you died. (While you are dead)
Including the sound made when you eat and the gear equipped will play while you are dead.

So first, I tried doing it while keep inventory was false, then when it was true.
You can also see that I gained golden apple effects after dying. And hunger effect also removed what I gained from the apple, you can see that.

Thanks for providing the requested information however, in the attachment I can see that your game was modified when experiencing this issue, therefore making this ticket invalid.
The issue still exists in the vanilla unmodified version. And the only modifications I used were fps mods such as Sodium and Sodium extra. I'm pretty sure these won't really modify the way you eat something. Including I found this first in 1.12.2 then tested it on 1.17 and these mods doesn't exist in 1.12.2 at all (since fabric isn't made for 1.12.2).
If in any case you won't accept the modified version, I can disable all modification and resource packs to prove that.
so do I really need to make a vanilla version of the video? The bug exists either way. and I just wanted the fps mods so my game doesn't look lagy in the video. I should I could really make another one for sure.
This bug is already being tracked at MC-133218.
Please provide some screenshots or videos of this issue occurring whilst the F3 debug screen is enabled.
