When crossing chunk borders I experience harsh spikes in frame time, which are visible in the Alt + F3 graph. These spikes occur every time without fail. They seem to happen everywhere whether I'm in the sky, on the surface, or underground. However, I've noticed the spikes are significantly worse on the surface compared to when I'm underground. For some reason I experience extremely poor performance on the surface (between 60-120 FPS) compared to when I'm underground or tunneling (between 800-1200+ FPS), which is a bit strange as I'm running one of the most high end setups available. Below I've provided a screenshot of how the spikes appear in the frame time graph along with my PC specs. I've also included a screenshot of my task manager which shows I'm getting incredibly high CPU usage, which I've never experienced in prior versions of MC.

When I see this in 21w37a, unlike MC-236682 I don't see any lingering issue with loading or reloading the world, I see the behavior for all cardinal directions as opposed to MC-229115, and I see it for every chunk boundary crossing unlike what's described in MC-162253.
My FPS will drop in half or worse every time I cross into a new chunk.
[media]Here's a copy of my profiling results when crossing those chunk boundaries.

@Avoma I'm in the same boat as hereticalrex, I experience these spikes no matter which direction I'm facing and it occurs in every chunk. I saw the issue you posted as well however from what I recall I wasn't experiencing any significant spikes upon loading the world in. I'll update this if I notice anything however.
