The bug
The biome "Jungle Edge"'s name is no longer accurate due to terrain generation changes. While in previous versions it would indeed generate as the borders of a jungle biome, 1.18 changes its role in world generation such that, in a similar fashion to MC-235684, this name no longer makes complete sense.
Expected behaviour
The biome would be renamed to something else to reflect it no longer acts as the edge of a jungle biome.
Actual biome
The biome's name and ID are still jungle_edge:
