In the Singleplayer menu, when hovering over a world that cannot be selected due to its world format being incompatible (i.e. worlds from experimental snapshots), an error tooltip is not shown.
This is inconsistent with other inaccessible worlds and confusingly suggests that worlds opened in a snapshot version are less problematic than worlds with incompatible world formats.
In addition, a play icon is shown on the world icon when hovering over it, despite the unplayable status of the world. A red exclamation mark should perhaps be shown instead.
Steps to reproduce
Copy a world from an experimental snapshot into your
saves
folderGo to the Singleplayer menu
Hover over the world icon
Observed behaviour
No tooltip is shown, and a play button appears.
Notes
Before 21w39a, this bug could also be experienced using worlds with incompatible world heights (pre-21w37a worlds).
If you are testing this in a snapshot version, the default snapshot tooltip will show, telling you to back up your world. (This is also incorrect behaviour.)

This seems to be fixed as of 24w09a. 😃 As shown in the image below, worlds made in an incompatible version now get a special tooltip.
[media]Based on the version that the translation string for the tooltip was added (source: Misode's mcmeta repository, line added to en_us.json), the fix version for this bug is 23w42a.
