ghost items generate when dropped with q and picked up in creative

I was throwing stuff out of creative inventory with q key to the ground, where I could instantly pick them up. However when I checked the picked up stuff (I heard the item pick-up sound too), there was nothing in my inventory, however it was almost empty. About 1-2 minutes later they appeared in my inventory altough, so it must have been some ghost item generation.
