/setworldspawn causes simulated distance to fail in all loaded chunks

The Bug

When doing /setworldspawn with a low simulated distance it causes entities outside the simulated distance to be updated and act as if they were in your simulated distance

Reproduce

  • Set your simulated distance to 2 chunks

  • Put a zoglin and an armor stand next to each other

  • Move away to where they are outside your simulated distance

  • Look at the zoglin with a spyglass
✔ Notice it isn't doing anything

  • Do /setworldspawn
❌ Notice it starts attack the armor stand even though it is out of the simulated distance

Expected Result

/setworldspawn wouldn't cause simulated distance to fail

Does reloading the game fix this?

I'm pretty sure this happens because you're changing the spawn chunks to your current location

Spawn chunks are not affected by simulation distance. When you ran command, the spawn chunks changed to your location and likely allowed the mob to function.
