Bubbles are displayed only when the entity enters the bubble column (there are magma blocks or soul sand at the bottom of the water)

Duplicate of MC-188529, which was later resolved as "Won't Fix". You can switch to the "Fabulous!" graphic settings in order to resolve this issue. 🙂
