Java's autosave indicator doesn't look like Bedrock's autosave indicator (Parity issue)

The Bug

Java's autosave indicator doesn't look like its Bedrock counterpart. Java has a bottom right autosave indicator that says "Saving World" which displays both when the game is paused and some seconds after it gets un-paused again. Bedrock's autosave indicator is located at the top right and displays a chest-like icon instead of words. The image below shows a comparison. The two images at the left are from Java, while the image at the right is for Bedrock.

Reproduce

  • Load up a version of Bedrock Edition

  • Wait for the game to autosave

  • Load up a version of Java Edition

  • Press ESC

  • Compare the two autosave indicators

Observed Result

The Java Indicator was just text saying "Saving World"

Expected Result

It would be the same as Bedrock Edition or a combination of both

Please provide a comparison screenshot comparing the two auto save indicators

Ok, I'll try to find screenshots.

Testing Bedrock, the autosave indicator seems to not be there anymore. Maybe it was removed on some version, or changed place. But for now I'd say that this should be closed, unless someone can get an icon to compare.

I have added a comparison now : D

The looks of UI is not a gameplay feature, and is not covered in our parity goals.

For me this is an issue like MC-230343+,+ so I don't think this is invalid. This is a new parity break made by a new feature being added, and on a gameplay-related way I'd say that it would help players to know when their worlds are being saved in a more noticeable way if it was similar to one counterpart or another.

I just wanted to comment that, but anyway I'll accept what do you think is right.

MC-230343 is to do with light levels being emitted by blocks, which is affects gameplay. (A way to test this is whether the bug would need a fix on the server or client.) The autosave indicator, however, is just a UI hint and doesn't affect anything in-game, i.e. beyond the HUD and menu screens. In addition, the auto-save feature works differently in both editions, so arguably there is no reason for the indicators to match.
