Turtles spawn in desert biomes
In the new pre-release turtles spawn in desert biomes next to shores as if it was a beach biome. The same happens for patches of grass and trees. It looks so cursed when you see a turtle family living next to a lava pool.

The biome was partly desert partly beach! Also, I happens in 1.17 sometimes turtles spawn in deserts with no connection to the ocean.
We do not have enough information to reproduce this issue.
Please provide the following information about the world you are playing in as text. Attaching a screenshot showing them is not enough.
World Type:
"Default" if you have not chosen one when creating the world.
For "Superflat": Additionally provide the generation preset.
For "Buffet": Additionally provide the generator type and biome you have selected.
Additional generation settings (in case you changed them): E.g. "Generate Structures", "Bonus Chest", ...
Seed: Can be obtained by using the
/seedcommand and clicking on the message in chatCoordinates: Can be copied to clipboard by pressing
F3+C
