When the game was first updated I found horses and a few Donkeys. After I logged out the next time I logged in they were gone. I have looked everywhere possible for countless hours and can not find a single horse. I do not use creative mode so I can't just spawn one. Any ideas?

I am having the same issue. I am using the new launcher and playing version 1.6.2 on survival mode and have been playing countless hours and have never found a horse. I have researched where they spawn (plains biome) and have gone to every plains biome that i could find. I have found multiple NPC villiages, so i know im in a plains biome, but no horses. I have spent many weeks trying to find a horse, but no luck.
I had the same issue.
It was because I went back to using the old launcher... I was playing 1.5.2. Use new launcher, you'll have your horses back.
Cheers!
