My friend bought Minecraft on Java and it thinks that he didn't buy it. He tried buying it twice. It wasn't a fake.

My friend and I were trying to play Minecraft Java together for a while. H finally bought Minecraft yesterday and he couldn't play it. His computer had enough storage and Minecraft was up to date. As of now, it was 1.18.2. He paid $20 on Minecraft.net. It was not a fake website. I was there. He downloaded the launcher when it said, "PLAY DEMO." We were frustrated that it made him play the demo version on the launcher. He bought the actual game for $20. I would've happily used that for Minecraft Dungeons Ultimate pass, but instead, it went to nothing. He bought it again thinking that it didn't approve the payment or something. It still didn't work. This was on his iMac by the way. I have MY Minecraft on Windows 10. Thank you for hopefully fixing this bug. Also, this is NOT a joke. I am serious. Sorry, I didn't take a photo. Thanks again!
