scoreboard.dat filling with dead entities

In our world there are many entites given scores and killed by our datapack. The bug happens when a already dead entity gets assigned a score. The entries in scoreboard.dat are not removed and will stay there indefinetely causing the file to grow huge in a matter of hours. This results in Auto-Save times of about a minute after a day of playing and us having to delete the file itself resetting all scoreboards.

An example datapack is attached

Could you create a minimum viable test case, so this can be verified and the cause properly identified?

Thank you for adding the datapack. 🙂
Can you also provide information on how to use it, with consistent steps to reproduce the issue? Such as; any commands to use, functions to run, and in what order.

Still happens on version 1.20.4, can be reproduced as follows:

  1. Create a world using the attached datapack.

  1. Run "scoreboard objectives add foo dummy".

  2. Run "scoreboard players list", the number of tracked entities increases every tick.

Have reproduced on both Ubuntu and Windows.
