Chat preview can overlap chat contents if the message is long enough

If the server has previews-chat enabled and the player types a long message, the preview chat can overlap the chat contents.

How to reproduce

  1. Join a server with previews-chat enabled.

  2. Ensure you have chat preview enabled in settings.

  3. Send a few messages.

  4. Type a long message, but don't send it.

  5. See how the preview chat can overlap some of the chat contents.

I have seen this happen as well

I can confirm this behavior as well, although I feel this is just the same issue as MC-124249 but with the chat preview background opacity box. Instead of having a new ticket tracking how this same behavior occurs in this instance, I suggest updating MC-124249 to include these details.

The way I see it, MC-124249 describes the text rendering past the edge of the coloured area (to the right), but this report describes a separate issue with the top of the preview overlapping the bottom of the chat when the preview wraps onto multiple lines. (Perhaps the chat should be moved up to make room for the preview)

Oh, my apologies, I misread the ticket. I thought the issue was the text escaping the right side of the text background opacity box.

In 1.19-rc2,relates to MC-30217 and MC-1237.

Can confirm in 1.19.1 Pre-release 5. This is most notably a problem when text background opacity is disabled.
