[MC-252230] Escape Key does not pause game

When pressing the escape key, Minecraft java edition does not pause the game. This did work on Pre-release 2.

Please attach a video, I cannot reproduce this.

I am also unable to reproduce. Is this issue specific to an input device? Try another keyboard, or use a macro to "press" the Esc key.
