So I was on youtube and he was busting myths. He was then spicing up a myth by putting a netherstar in an item frame next to tnt and the tnt exploded it. I then went into Minecraft and made sure it was true.

Surely just fix by making an item frame drop its item upon death, similar to how shulker box items do.
Seems to be because the item frame dies, that it doesn't drop the item.
To fix this, the frame would need to check the damage source (explosion), see if the item is immune to it, and if that's the case, drop it.
I reckon this also means item frames that burn destroy netherite items (by setting their Fire NBT), needs to be verified though.
