Missing profile public key

I had a problem reported as MC-253097 , but now I am getting this error now. I have not played realms for a week. 

Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?

This started occurring to me and my friend consistently since this morning (GMT+1) (Minecraft Realms). I've had virtually no issues for the last month or so. Restarting Minecraft hasn't helped. I'm hoping it's just a server issue and not something worse.

This was using the Windows 10 - MCL 2.3.324 non-store launcher, which flashes "Play offline" and Play. Like in MCL-22184

I can configure my realm and download backups - but I can't connect to them

24 hours later, now the issue is no longer occuring for me. I didn't do anything, so I suspect it's just a Mojang server issue or similar.

i found a way to fix this go in the server.propertis and then set 
enforce-secure-profile=false

Can you show me how to do this please?

@Micah That workaround has to be implemented by the server admin. You can't change it on the client side.

just go to your server files. then click on a file named server.propertis in that file you will find something callled

enforce-secure-profile then just change the true to false

enforce-secure-profile=false

I have the same problem on my friends server. But sometimes I just get stuck on the Joining World screen and never render in the game. It's odd because the server thinks I am logged in.

I'm still getting this error, today, and I have tried every suggestion in this story and the related ones, except the one I cannot.  I can't change the server.properties file because I am trying to connect to my own Java Realms Server, so I do not have access to the file in question.  My computer's clock is synchronized correctly, I have tried restarting the launcher and the game multiple times, I have double-checked there aren't newer versions, and I'm running out of ideas.  This error does not occur every time I try to log in, but it has happened about half of the times I have tried today.

I have this same problem on my REALM. How do I fix it?

My provider's DNS servers blocked access to Mojang servers. The issue was solved by prescribing public DNS servers, for example 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8.

When joining servers that have "enforce-secure-profiles=true" it says "Failed to connect to server missing profile public key. This server requires secure profiles." while this is a problem the issue persists on realms. when joining realms on 1.19.2 it says the same message but there is no way to change "enforce-secure-profiles" since realms don't have server files. Is there a different way to resolve this issue for realms? I have tried restarting and fixing time zone and nothing works. Does anyone have a solution?

I've had this issue for two days now. I can't connect to my friend's Minecraft Realm (1.19.2 Vanilla on Java Edition). Before this I could play just fine and had no issues at all. I first checked if some of my profile settings were turned off but the necessary one's are on. Afterwards I've completely wiped off any Minecraft related folder and reinstalled the game, to no avail.

I then let my brother, who lives in the same house and uses the same internet, know about this issue, and told him to try connecting to the Minecraft Realm on his system. He got the same message as me even though he hadn't played Minecraft for the past 6 months. We've both migrated our accounts way back when it was first introduced. This brought me to the conclusion that it must be our ISPs doing and that something had changed over night.

To test this out, I booted up my old laptop, updated Minecraft, and connected to the Realm. Same issue, of course. After restarting the game, I then connected my laptop to my phone hotspot and tried connecting. It worked, so that confirmed my theory. I left Minecraft open, disconnected my hotstop, connected to my usual internet, and tried connecting again. It worked again. I restarted Minecraft and tried again, but this time it didn't work, which means that you only have to start the Game while connected to the hotspot and you can connect to your usual internet when it has booted up.

I would do just that on my PC, of course, but I don't have any WiFi adapter for my PC so there's no way for me to use that method to actually play the game with smooth fps. I also don't know how I can resolve this issue without having to call my ISP since I've tried port forwarding on my ISPs website, to no avail again.

Maybe someone else has the same issue as me and can utilize this method to play again.

I hope that someone out there, who knows more about this stuff, can help me out since I'm unable to play and support hasn't contacted me for several days now.

This started happening to my players en masse after upgrading to 1.19.3

As a result I have set enforce-secure-profile=false, but it makes no difference it still appears to enforce these keys regardless of this setting. 
What actually appears to be happening is anyone logged in too long to where their key expires but they are still on the server causes no one new to be able to connect. I have not been able to identify how long a person has to stay on to make this happen, as it is common for people on my server to not log out for days as the authentication making you restart everything daily or more every since the Microsoft migration basically guarantees a relog= a relaunch. I have multiple times now kicked the longest logged in player on the server and that has fixed the problem. I assume the changes allowing people to renew the keys without relogging is what is causing this as it did not happen in 1.19.2? 

Though my server is Paper, I've been able to reproduce this using a couple of accounts on a vanilla server with secure profile off. Again, don't know how long I just left it for a few days and came back. 
To anyone suffering this problem only after 1.19.3 even after turning the key enforcement off, I suggest you add an auto restart or an auto kick to your server, like 24 hours or something and adjust as needed.

But i have found a solutions sometimes Minecraft is running in the background without the os knowing this is rare "I think" but in order to fix the issue you can open activity monitor or task manger and terminate task when you launch Minecraft again it might take longer or a hefty duration of time to launch!

I've found that to be an issue too, but the error is always different, related to the normal "failed to validate session" or whatever. It's been an annoying issue for some time now that I have to constantly remind players to check that the launcher actually closed when they have to revalidate every day now. But I've never seen that be the cause of this missing profile key thing, and killing from task manager never fixes it, at least in the particular case I outlined we have below ymmv. Also we've had the need the kill the launcher from task manager issue for many versions where this issue, at least for me, started in 1.19.3 and for others in comments below some version of 1.19 as that's when this system was added.

Are you able to reproduce this issue with the Vanilla launcher and 1.20.1+?

For me in the very least, the issue resolved with 1.20.1, however I did skip 1.19.4 so I'm not sure where. 
My enforce-secure-profile is still set to false from attempting to prevent this the first time, so I'll change that to true soon here and update if it causes it. 
In the very least the confusing behavior of trying to enforce the secure profiles with the setting off is gone, if it's not entirely solved. 
The issue being resolved has not been tested with a true vanilla server unlike I did for the problem, but I imagine the fix is from Mojang's end.
