Eating animation becomes jittery on the death screen

If the player is consuming food when they die, the eating animation for that food item becomes jittery.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Take some damage from a cactus to reduce your hunger

  2. Teleport yourself into the air: /tp @s ~ ~30 ~

  3. Just before you hit the ground, start eating a steak (or similar)

  4. As soon as you die, stop eating the steak (to prevent MC-133218 kicking in)

Observed behaviour

The eating animation continues, in a jittery state. The animation could also be described as stuttering, shaky/shaking, or glitchy/glitching.

Expected behaviour

The eating animation would not continue.

I'm pretty sure that this ticket would qualify as a duplicate of MC-109251.

This seems like a separate issue to me, as this issue describes an animation becoming shaky, whereas MC-109251 describes the whole world becoming shaky.

In addition, the situation required to experience the bug is different: here, the animation simply needs to be present at the time of death, but in the case of MC-109251 the effect can only be observed after rapid movement.

Perhaps the issues' root causes are similar, but their observed behaviours and steps to reproduce are quite different.

After looking further into MC-109251, it appears that some animations are also covered by the issue. However, the situation required to trigger this bug remains different, so it still appears to be a separate issue.
