Game instantly crashes, fails to add PDH counter

I was originally trying to launch on 1.18.1 but the same problem also arises for 1.19.

I'm not sure how this problem could have arisen, I launched Minecraft fine a couple hours ago and nothing has changed except some episodes when my computer ran out of memory, and that's when I closed Minecraft. Looking at other threads with the same crash problem, this seems to be an oshi problem but it doesn't make sense how this is now a problem when it wasn't earlier. Fixes were discussed in those threads but I have no knowledge of how java works and am therefore unable to interpret those solutions. I tried deleting the .minecraft folder but was unable to, and deleting and reinstalling the regular way doesn't seem to change anything.
