So when you effect yourself with resistance yourself with resistance than jump in lava you won't get damaged depending on what level of resistance you have. I gave myself infinite resistance level 240 and left the game, I joined back and jumped in lava, instead of not taking damage, I took massive damage because I left the game the effect appeared there but I still died.

Your game, launcher or server is modified.
If you can reproduce the issue in a vanilla environment, please recreate the issue.
Any non-standard client/server/launcher build needs to be taken up with the appropriate team, not Mojang.
Any plugin issues need to be addressed to the creator of the plugin or resource pack.
If you have problems on large servers, such as The Hive and Hypixel, please contact them first as they run modified server software.

Correct, @unknown. OptiFine is a mod, and issues caused by mods aren't supported here in this bug tracker.
Besides that, see also MC-10755; issues caused by amplified effects with a level exceeding than what's possible in survival won't be fixed.
