[MC-255466] I can't join another person's world even when they invite me it keeps telling me the the server is outdated

A friend invited me but when I tried to join the world I was told that it was outdated and unable to connect

The same issue with me, except it says "outdated client" for me. I updated my game, but still can't connect to my friend's world.

You can't play on an outdated server with a newer version; you need to install the client version that corresponds to the version of the server. For example, if the server is on 1.19 you need to use 1.19, not 1.19.2. There are some exceptions, but this is not a bug with the game.
