[MC-25687] You don't stay on your horse when going into water

Is it just me or does it seem you should be able to stay on your horse when going into the water? In every other game you can. Skyrim, oblivion, and a few others. But why not minecraft? Is it suppose to be this way?

well that shouldn't be, in every other game you can ride a horse in water, in real life you can ride a horse in water, so why not minecraft? You should be able to ride a horse in water. Otherwise it makes it hard to enjoy a horse in minecraft when you have so much water to avoid and dodge.
