Performace issuse

So after the horse update or 1.6 I have noticed my framerate has been cut drastically. When I played 1.5.2 w/ Optifine on my favorite servers: Overcast I averaged on about 30-60 FPS but after installing the new launcher and playing on the latest update I now average on 10-20 and with drops to 1 or freezes often making gameplay very hard to enjoy. I played on same settings as before: short 16-32 render distance

I have tried things such as: Lower render/graphic settings, install Optifine, defrag my hard drive, optimize my system, give Minecraft higher priority in task manger, give Minecraft more and less memory.

So I dictated to talk to some people and ask if they had experienced some framerate issuse with the new update and surprisingly many people have performance issuse with 1.6 and even people with kickass gaming computers.
