[MC-258986] Can't place any block on bamboo planks

This is on a minecraft server btw

So I was building my house, and when i got to bamboo blocks, I couldn't place any block, only if I placed it on the side of the other block. Don't know why. Down there is a video.

Looks like that's spawn protection on the server.

Are you OP? Does the server have any OPs? What's spawn-protection set to in the server.properties file?

I am actually op (and server owner) and the server spawn is actually couple hundred blocks away.

Can you break or place bamboo planks? Can you craft them? If not, then the 1.20 feature might have gotten disabled for some reason on your server, and the game will act as if the block does not exist and cancel any actions related to it.
