The tripwire hook model uses the oak planks texture for the stick, rather than the tripwire hook item texture

The bug

From release 1.3.1 to 1.7.10, the "stick" portion of placed tripwire hooks used the "stick" portion of the tripwire hook item. However, from release 1.8 to the current day, this element now uses the texture of oak planks. This does not appear to be intentional, and is likely an oversight introduced during 1.8's development when data-driven block models were being introduced to replace hardcoded block rendering.

How to reproduce

  1. Place a tripwire hook

  2. Inspect it

Expected results

The "stick" region would use the texture of the "stick" area of the tripwire hook item texture.

Actual results

It instead uses the texture of oak planks for the "stick" region.

This issue does not appear to affect Bedrock Edition - the stick appears to indeed use the tripwire hook texture:
