On Fedora Linux, Minecraft refuses to output sound

What I expected to happen was...:
Minecraft outputs sound normally

What actually happened was...:
The narritator outputs sound normally but everything else doesn't

Steps to Reproduce:
I dont know the steps, all I know is it just happened.
