[MC-264416] Minecraft runs out of memory dispite it having 9GB allocated

The game lags out then goes "saving world" and also does the screen when u load a texture pack, then crashes.

Invalid. Your computer has only 4GB physical ram. Please refrain from memory over-allocation and contact technical support if any issues persist.

You should only allocate a maximum 2GB to Minecraft on your machine. Anything more than that is too much and will likely not work or make your system even slower.
