In the Java version, bone meal does not ripen sugar cane, but the bedrock version can ripen sugar cane. I think it's a vanilla parity issue. The bone meal should ripen the cane.

We're actually already tracking this issue in MC-73963, so this ticket is being resolved and linked as a duplicate.
However, that ticket has been resolved as working as intended, which means that this will not be fixed as it is not considered a bug.
Also, reports about parity issues are only accepted if the issue was introduced in Buzzy Bees (Bedrock Edition 1.14 / Java Edition 1.15) or later.
