Baby camels won't try to face in the direction of their adults when players tempting them

The Bug:

Baby camels won't try to face in the direction of their adults when pathfinding to players who tempting them, whereas other baby animals will.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Summon an adult pig (or any other animal except a camel) with the command

    /summon minecraft:pig ~ ~ ~ {NoAI:1b}
  2. Obtain some carrots (or other suitable food) and summon baby pigs with the command

    /summon minecraft:pig ~ ~ ~ {Age:-24000}
  3. Make the baby pigs follow you by holding the carrot in your hand.

  4. Move further away from the adult pig while still maintaining a reasonable distance from it.

  5. Take note as to whether or not baby pigs try to face in the direction of their adult when pathfinding to players that are tempting them.

  6. Do the same thing with the camels, and observe whether or not they have the same behavior.

Observed Behavior:

Baby camels won't try to face in the direction of their adults when pathfinding to players who tempting them, whereas other baby animals will.

Expected Behavior:

Baby camels will try to face in the direction of their adults when pathfinding to players who tempting them, just like other baby animals.

Probably caused by the fix of MC-256549.

I think the problem here is MC-251642. The current behavior with camels seems logical and correct due to the fix of MC-256549.

Looks like the same issue, yeah. Will resolve as a duplicate. Thanks Avoma 🙂
