Baby slimes/magma cubes do not inherit parent's velocity

I just killed a big magma cube with a knockback sword, which caused its "corpse" to fly off of a ledge and disappear mid-air.  When it spawned the smaller magma cubes, they spawned with no downwards velocity, which made them hover there and it looked kinda goofy.

I think technically, because conservation of momentum could exist here but doesn't, this is a bug.  Would love to see this tiny physics oversight fixed in a future update!

Cannot reproduce this. After killing a large magma cube with high knockback, the smaller slimes fell downward as expected.

Wow, I'm surprised this got a comment!

I was referring to how the baby magma cubes initially spawn with zero downwards velocity—they still eventually fall.
If it were real life though, you'd expect that if the corpse of the big magma cube disappeared going 10m/s downwards that the baby magma cubes would spawn with that same 10m/s downwards velocity.

Judging by your video, it actually looks like like none of the velocity is inherited/transferred—from a physics perspective I'd expect the baby magma cubes to spawn and continue roughly the same trajectory as the big magma cube the moment it disappears.

Here's a Desmos graph showing the difference
