Problems with maps

I was trying to generate a map in my underground base in an extreme hills biome, while the following problems appeared:
1) The place where I've generated the map, wasn't in the center but in the upper right corner. See screenshot "new map doesn't generate in the center.png"
2) After having put the map in an item frame and stopping the game, when I've started the game up again it had to redraw itself. See screenshot: "map has to reload with starting up.png"
3) when I've tried to make a zoomed out version, the crafting recipe didn't work and made me lose 8 paper [not a big deal but enoying 😉 ]. See screenshots: "map doesn't zoom out" 1 and 2

My maps always start in the bottom left corner since 1.5. I thought it was an intentional change.

pretty positive maps generate not based on location (i.e. center of map) but in relation to the chunks your in. Your map is generating 16 (guessing on number) chunks and your location in relation to those 16 chuncks is based off 0,0,0 so its possible to be in the upper or lower portion of a map now.

Either that or your moving away from where you crafted the map as it used to be where you craft the map is 0,0 and if you move from that point and then open your map you'll show moved from 0,0

I've noticed this since they made it possible to zoom maps out with the crafting recipie. probably has to do with the zooming variable when crafting
