When you make a custom head in minecraft using Seth Blings filters and make a spawner that has the head on, specifically a baby mob the head floats above the head.

So are you just saying that head's are not positioned correctly on baby mobs? Or does this only occur when you use this filter?

It's definitely not just Sethbling's filters, and (as of 1.4.2 but I highly doubt this was ninja patched in 1.4.4) the issue also affects giving the tiny zombies or zombie pigmen babies a blockhead. It doesn't scale. Helmets scale correctly, but blocks and player heads do not.

Confirmed; this applies to any baby zombie, zombie villager, or zombie pigman, regardless of how it was created. This can be achieved in survival by throwing a wither skeleton skull at certain baby zombified villagers (not all have the ability to pick it up).

I understand normal blocks used as heads on baby zombies float at normal head height. But if player heads and mob heads are wearable masks then baby zombies should have these object render at correct height as the helmets do, I mean if Mojang doesn't mind.

Vote this up so they can fix it!!!

Confirmed in 1.5.1.

Still an issue in 1.6.1 pre-release.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

Confirmed for 1.6.2. This has become more of an issue now that baby zombies and pigmen are a natural spawn - they can also pick up and wear pumpkins, but the pumpkin will render incorrectly like all other blocks/heads.
Also, I can confirm that you are able to punch/shoot baby zombies/pigmen by aiming an entire meter above them, as per the "baby zombie hitbox too high" in the ticket's title.

just encountered this in 1.6.2, took some screenshots, but its already been reported so i wont bother with them.

Verified in 1.7.2, met a baby zombie with his pumpkin floating well above him.
Gerrard: I am totally not complaining about baby zombies having a full-sized hitbox. Those things are dangerous enough anyway due to their speed and sometimes evasiveness.

Confirmed in 13w48b.

example code that proves that the bug is still existent:
/summon Zombie ~1 ~0 ~1 {IsBaby:1,Equipment:[{id:268},{id:301},{id:300},{id:299},{id:397}]}
id:397 is the skullhead
the other armor parts (leather) are only there because I'm not too familiar with data tags (was an example code to spawn mobs with armor on and I have only modified it)
EDIT: sorry for the formatting (the code was in one line, but JIRA uses some of the characters to format the text differently...)
the screenshot above (babyzombie skullhead bug.jpg) has been made with the latest snapshot: 14w05b

Pumpkins and player/mob heads still hover over baby zombies in 14w05b.
Also of note: when shooting arrows at the floating mob head the arrows bounce off the head.

Still a concern in 1.7.5 and 14w10c

Confirmed for 14w11b

Confirmed for 14w17a

Confirmed for 14w18b.

Confirmed for 14w21b.

The hitbox was fixed in 1.7, right? Do worn blocks still float?

@Roadsguy Blocks still float and hit box changed in the way that allows them to pass through 1 high holes but odd things happen graphically when you try shooting arrows at a floating head or block. Arrows look like they bounce off the floating head, appear in one location then disappear and reappear in another location along the arrows previous trajectory.

@Pete: So it's like how the client thinks XP orbs can go over slabs, but the server doesn't, and you get "fake" XP orbs that repeatedly hop back to where they should be?
And yes, I knew the hitbox was fixed to that they're one block high. I was wondering if they had also fixed the issue with the worn blocks, which apparently they haven't.

This still affects currents snapshot 14w30c
Unless of course this is being left as a feature for Halloween to see pumpkins floating above baby zombies? Every other day of the year it's just problematic to customize baby zombies, pigmen and villagers.

This issue was fixed and last working in the 14w33c snapshot, now broken slightly again in the 14w34d snapshot. Baby zombie villagers, player head hovers above again. Baby zombie, player head is slightly high just showing Zombie head/chin. PigZombie baby is same as normal zombie baby. Will add pics.

Still broken in 1.8 pre-release. Any chance mod can put fixed version as 14w33c even if it is broken again for pre-release?
You were so close.

Attached overview screenshot for 1.8-pre1:
All hitboxes are still wrong
Helmets are displayed properly on all baby zombies/zombie pigmen
Skulls are displayed wrongly for baby villager zombies/zombie pigmen
Blocks are only displayed right for baby zombies

Confirmed For Pre Release 3

The filter does not cause this. It is caused by the game not detecting that certian mobs are babies and placing the head where a normal zombie/standing mob's head would be

Confirmed for 1.8.1.

Because of this, baby zombies occasionally suffocate when jumping and players can attack them from 2 blocks above even if there's block between.

Confirmed for 1.8.2-pre1 (floating mob heads are fixed, but the hitbox is still 2 blocks high).

So the hitbox issue was broken again for 1.8? Pretty sure that at least was fixed in 1.7...

@Sonicwave The floating heads are not fixed for 1.8.2-pre1. Baby zombie villagers have a mounted head at 2 high level. Normal baby zombies mounted head sits slightly offset high, but is very noticeable if the baby zombie is looking down at you as the zombie face offsets through the mounted head. When looking up the mounted head becomes more offset upward. That is why the hit boxes are still 2 high. There is a picture of the 14w33c snapshot, the only time the baby heads where at correct level.

Still confirmed in 15w31c

confirmed 15w34d

Still effects 15w35b, it's the first thing I check in snapshots. Test it with baby villagers zombies if you want to see the big issue.
Besides even with normal baby villagers it is still offset when the baby zombie looks down the zombie face clips through.

Pete Frisky: Since most of this bug is fixed, please create a new ticket for baby villager zombies.
