Villagers have pathfinding issues when attempting to access a job site block

When villagers attempt to access job site blocks, they tend to have trouble pathfinding. For example, farmers walk on top of composters and tend to trample their own crops and armorers walk into the corners of their shops instead of directly in front of the blast furnace.
