Lag when spectating spider

Spectating a spider causes framerate drops as shown in the screenshot. Related to MC-268902 since the menu background uses the same blur shader.

We do not have enough information to find the cause of this issue.

Please record a video of this happening and attach it to this report.
If you are on Windows, you can use Windows+Alt+R to open a built-in app for recording game footage.
If you are on Mac (Mojave or later), you can use Shift+Command+5 to open a built-in app for recording your screen.

For me the FPS drop isn't really worse than I would expect (although there is a big spike when initially clicking the spider); I tested in both 24w09a and 24w11a, and there was no noticeable difference between these versions. I notice OP has a completely different setup from mine so I wonder if this might be hardware-specific.

Thanks clam for attaching a video. Going to keep this as AR for now to allow the OP to attach their own and compare results.

I'm also thinking hardware as a possible cause here.

I have uploaded a video (

) of the spider frame drop happening in 24w11a. The performance has improved considerably after the blur shader changes in 24w11a (compare the F3+2 graph to the screenshot taken in 24w09a), but there is still a significant frame drop similar to the video clam posted.
