When a player gives themselves a potion effect via commands, setting hide [<hideParticles>] to true no longer stops particles from appearing as it did in previous snapshots. However, the particles that do appear aren't the correct ones for the effect applied.
Attached is a video showing what happens when a player sets particles to hidden, and what the intended particles for the same effect should be.
This also affects worlds that had infinite or ongoing effects from previous snapshot versions.
