"/playsound" for longer tracks (assuming that it is intentionally designed to play longer tracks) such as music tracks for example become cut off by an excess of other sound effects.

"/playsound" for longer tracks (assuming that it is intentionally designed to play longer tracks which I hope it is or will be soon implemented) such as music tracks for example become cut off by an excess of other sound effects.

Whether it is used by a command block or by a player command, sound will be cut short with the "/playsound" command. It is possible to successfully play the music I want to use for my adventure map without cutting out, but that requires disabling virtually all other sound effects, such as mob sounds, chest sounds, walking sounds, and etcetera. This is not nearly as immersive though. I am unsure of whether this is a bug or not. I am not that "tech-depth." I apologize for any possible duplicate issue post also. I use "/playsound <folder_name>.dreamChaser @a 0 0 0 100 1.0" because I want this approximately-three-minute-song to play virtually worldwide. It plays successfully, but by simply running in circles on grass (creating noise) and punching the grass continuously (creating additional noise), you should find out that the original "/playsound" sound (used earlier) gets cut short before the songs' actual ending. I use these song file types in Ogg Vorbis. Any song or sound will cut out no matter the volume of it (to the best of my knowledge). This is a very annoying issue for me, because I already spent a ton of time adding music to my world. If this can be fixed (or implemented, assuming the length of the song files that I am using are just simply too long beyond intentional use anyway), then it would most certainly be appreciated. Thank you for your time on this.

However, do custom sounds work for you? MC-19766 is still marked as unresolved.

Custom sounds work great for me, but the only way to use "/playsound" is if I place the sounds inside .minecraft\assets\sound\<folder_name>\<ogg_file> . Everything works fine and the implementation of the "/playsound" into resource packs would be nice (so people with whom I share my resource pack with won't have to move two folders in two different locations for my adventure map), but the only issue I am primarily concerned about is the cut off sound. I can copy the sound file I want to a jukebox song file and rename it "13" for example in my resource pack, and that sound will still play my song while never cutting out which is great, but I want to use "/playsound" instead, which does cut the sound off. Other than the sound getting cut short from its normal length, everything else works just fine. Thank you again.

This bug hasn't been fixed yet, even in the latest snapshot 14w28b
