If the 'GUI Scale' option is on 'Auto', and if you try to scale it down using CTRL + mouse wheel, it shows as '-1'

go to Options

then, go to Video Settings

now, set your 'GUI Scale' option to 'Auto'

then, hold down CTRL and use your mouse wheel to scale it down further

the 'GUI Scale' option value changes to '-1'
