Soul Speed causes item damage, as opposed to depth strider, frost walker, and swift sneak

Enchantments like Depth Strider and Frost Walker do not cost the durability of boots. Also, Swift Sneak does not cost the durability of leggings. However, it's not the case to Soul Speed.

Thank you for your report!
However, this issue is Working as Intended.

The report you have submitted is working as intended: see https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/article/minecraft-snapshot-20w11a.

  • There's a downside, however: enchantments will slowly degrade your boots each Soul block you walk on

Please note, that mechanics of the game may change between updates.
Things such as graphics, sounds, world creation, biomes, redstone, villagers, and animals may not work the same in current versions.

Okay, thanks. So, I hope that Mojang can do some changes to the mechanism of Soul Speed, for example, slightly lowder down the speed after wearing boots enchanted this enchantment, but still faster than not wearing, and also greatly decrease the chance that the durability of the boots deducts or even better - not cost the durability when being enchanted on boots, because it has been hard for players to get this kind of enchanted book.

You can always submit feature requests and suggestions at The Minecraft Feedback Site or the Minecraft Feedback Discord server.

I mean, maybe it could be a reward for players to get Soul Speed, which is not to cost the durability of the boots. Imagine that when you walk in the soul sand valley, only your boots are continuously losing its durability. Anyway, I think the machanism of this enchantment may have influenced the balance of the durability of the armour.

Um, for what you just mentioned, I have done it before, but it seems that nobody has responded to me since then. Besides, I see that some people else also have mentioned about this enchantment, and some of them have the same idea like me. Maybe the feedback should be checked and discussed.
