Moss carpets no longer support transparency on custom models

Custom models for moss carpets, which previously supported transparency, no longer do, instead rendering solid colors where the texture should be blank.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install the provided resource pack.

  2. Place a moss carpet on top of a block.

Confirmed; this is most likely caused by the fix for MC-272582, as it's only reproducible from 1.21-pre3 and onward.

Please note, that mechanics of the game may change between updates.
Things such as graphics, sounds, world creation, biomes, redstone, villagers, and animals may not work the same in current versions.

Can we get some clarity as to how this is seen as working as intended? This sudden change to cause this right before release is troubling to many resource pack developers, such as myself.
