Minecarts are displayed far behind their actual position

You can observe this even at default speed but it becomes much more apparent at higher speeds.

Steps to Reproduce

  • Build a track for a minecart to speed up on with a detector rail at the end

  • Track the minecarts progress with /tick step 1t

Observed Result

  • The minecart activates the detector rail before it reaches it visually

  • The minecarts position would be accurate

Note

  • You can reveal the minecarts actual position by doing /tp @p minecart_id

After consideration, the issue is being closed as Won't Fix.

Please note that this is not the same as Working as Intended, as this bug report correctly describes behavior in the game that might not be the intended or desirable behavior, but it will not be fixed right now.
